Default Sound problems...

I bought this game a couple of days ago and its all great and stuff but every so often it makes really weird noise. It gets all distorted and really horrible.

I have no idea what could be causing this, any ideas?

Did you make sure there are no conflicts with the sound card and all the information is lined up? DId you make sure that the game is only using the new sound card, instead of trying to use two sound ports for the same sound? Did you try a different PCI slot, since sometimes it can be buggy. Did you test the sound card in another PC to make sure it isn't the card? Which card is it? If onboard, then your onboard could be buggy, any time else this problem occurs?

Tossing ideas in the dark here, as noone else has replied.

What kind of sound card do you have? Wouldn't hurt to run a dxdiag and test direct sound with the current version of direct X. Also, make sure your sound card drivers are up to date.

I have a Conexant AMC Sound card and I tested it by running dxdiag and it worked fine.

Direct X 9c (April 2006) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I would also update your sound card driver's if possible.

I downloaded DirectX 9 and it still makes the same noise.

How might one go about updating a sound card driver?
